Crab Island on a Pontoon Boat
Visit world renown Crab Island, Destin
Without a doubt, Crab Island, Destin Florida is a MUST for any visitor to the area. A pontoon is one of the only ways to reliably get there and stay safe while on the water. Water Fun Pontoon Rentals will ensure you safely arrive and have a safe place to enjoy the attractions of Crab Island!
Despite it’s name, Crab Island is actually a sandbar with knee to waist deep water depending on the tide. It doesn’t matter what day, rain or shine, there are always dozens to hundreds of boats visiting Crab Island year round. We can accommodate you with our pontoon rentals at any season. If Crab Island isn’t your thing, take a cruise through Destin’s Harbor or visit the various islands between Fort Walton Beach and Okaloosa.
From our customers
We’ve rented from here a few times now, this is our go-to spot. It’s located on HWY 98 in Fort Walton Beach so that means we don’t need to fight traffic to get to Destin to rent.
The boats are nice, Bentleys! They employee someone who reupholsters and works on body damage the boats might get while being rented. Our speaker worked but we always being a Bluetooth with us anyway.
I was surprised how spacious these pontoons were, there’s plenty of room for a party of 10 with coolers comfortably. The boats are actually rated for 12 so that’s a great amount for a party.
This pontoon rental company is family owned and operated and everyone is really nice and accommodating.
It takes a bit over 30 minutes to reach Crab Island from their location but you’d sit in traffic to Destin for much longer. This location is also prime for Billy Bowleggs in May.
There is plenty of sea life out there. You can see dolphins, jellyfish, crabs, fish of all kinds; we even found a sand dollar.
Overall this place is a bit of a hidden gem so I would book with them to save travel time and money!

The staff and owners are such awesome people! We did have a break down or so we thought. Once i made the call they explained to me that air just gets in the gas line and all we had to do was pump a gas ball. They stayed on the phone with us to make sure we were safe!We were perfectly fine the rest of the day. The boats are rentals so all the dents and minor scratches were no problem. Besides that the boat was in perfect condition and i would definitely recommend them. They care about their customers!

I changed from a place in Destin to ADW in Ft. Walton. Glad I did. The boats were Bentleys. They were nice boats. They did have wear and tear on them but they repair holes in the seats and abuse from renters. It had a 50hp which was plenty to get us on the 20 minute boat ride to Crab Island. There were no hidden fees such as fuel charges. The price on their site is what you pay. Crab Island was nice! We did an 8 hr rental. If you are looking for something more secluded, when you exit their marina take a right opposite way of Crab Island. That leads you towards the AF base and there are plenty of beaches on the southside of the waterway with white sandy beaches and no waves. Although Crab Island was great, this area was nice too! No one within 500 yds of us. So glad I went with ADW!

Awesome experience renting a pontoon boat from these folks earlier this week. I was looking for a last minute rental during spring break and found this place had the best price for half and full day rentals. I booked online and checked in at their office which is also a super cool car and marine audio shop directly across the street from the marina where the boat was. Then a guy pulled up in an oversized golf cart to shuttle us across the busy highway to the boat! Very convenient. They went over to the boat and I think there was a problem with the electrical system draining or something but they just left a charged up battery tender on it before going over all the controls with our captain and sending us off. Our boat had some cosmetic wear and tear that we were told about before we got on it and that was not an issue at all for us. He said it had a new engine. We took it to crab island for a bit then put it to work in some choppy water near Eglin AFB where we got some free air show right above us. Returned right on time and a dock hand Alex helped pull us in and tie it off. Couldn’t have asked for a better time for the price and these guys catered to us the whole way. 10/10 will be back
